AFTER LIKE 30 YEARS! (practice beginnings)

So, i've completed my presentation, and have worked on my note-cards,
They're both finished, and practice starts tomarrow morning,
Part of me says I'm ready, but another says I'm not.

My basically if you cut me in thirds, my head will be the only part of me against presenting.
mainly because i know that part of me isnt going to want to wake up in the morning,
and that's the reason i signed up for a later slot, so that i have cushion time just in case I'm a little late. Also I Don't really like presenting in front of people, its not my strongest point...
and the idea of presenting in-front of a bunch of people I don't know is just driving me insane...

So, other than the fear of me being late.............
and the Fear of my panelists...........
I'm Ready To Present........

Action Plan Update!

I've created my sample ribbon for my action plan,
and I've emailed a local business that does embroideries called "All Pro Embroidery" to see if they have ribbon they can donate or sell to me for my ribbons, the ribbons will be 6" by 1/2" folded in half for the ribbon.

Im hoping this company can donate the ribbon rather than selling because I don't have alot of money to spend. But I'm willing to pay if I have to.

I'm hoping that this company will reply back to my email soon, so that I can get to work on making the ribbons so i can start selling them ASAP to raise as much money as possible.

Update!

There has been an article posted online about a possible breakthrough on a vaccine for HIV and AIDS.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/sep/24/hiv-Infection-vaccine-aids-breakthrough

This potentially could help to protect people from HIV and AIDS with the second fact that it will not fully protect anyone, in the article there was a study done and out of 8197 people given the vaccine only 51 were infected with HIV, and out of 8196 who were given a dummyshot only 74 were infected.
So therefore there is only a 31% of people given the vaccine being infected by HIV and AIDS, which is not as good as 100% but is still a good breakthrough for the first one since the discovery of HIV causing AIDS.

Im working on my website and im getting really bored with it, and i cant think of anything else i need to do other than my peer edits on my literature review. But the good thing is that my website is nearing completion, but there is still work to be done.

Monday, September 21, 2009

Ughhhhhh!!!!

I've Finished Writing the Literature Review, and
I've Finished doing the Self Edits for the Literature Review...

And We've Got Surveys!

My surveys have been copied and are being passed out...
I've also made an excel spreadsheet to "TABULATE" all of my results...
(I like saying that word.)
i also have 2 completed surveys! Go Me!
and I think i have about 40-60 copies of the survey...
I've Got Serious Work To Do!
and I need to get my action plan approved by Ms. Savido and get it allowed
by Dr. Wertheimer...
Then I need to find a speaker... D=

Cha-Ching!

I've Finished My Survey!

Its being copied and ill be putting it out around lunch time
so that I don't upset administration with surveying people during class...

I have to survey people of all ages,
people outside of school and inside...
and this is going to be the problem, I dont have
the courage to ask a random person to take a survey,
especially if I dont know them.

Im also planning to have some kind of discussion/lecture in the cafeteria,
and i have to find a date to do this, so that is another thing that I have to accomplish.

DAY 4 of however many there are...

Literature Review, i've finished 3 paragraphs,
and now im working on getting my survey out to students at City High.

There are things I have to do before I do that...
Including:
-- Getting to the survey
-- Getting the survey approved by someone
-- and making copies of the survey
-- then getting the surveys to the students.

So i've got alot of work to do so I'm going to get myself to work!

Wednesday, September 2, 2009

Oh No!

So...
I finished my notes... and
now im working on my literature review, and im almost done with my 2nd paragraph.
now only like 11 to go...
that includes a conclusion...

Wooot!
and the title has nothing to do with what is going on...
its just to grab attention.
Haha!

Day 3 of Part 2

So...
I've been working frivolously on my notes for my foundation questions
and i think i could be almost done.

I'm thinking that I'm going to be starting my paper soon.
but its the fact that i dont want to work on it because
i dont know how to start it... Soooo...

I think I'm going to start working on the Introduction on the Literature Review...
maybe today or tomarrow...

but work must get done...

Welcome Back!

Well,
I Havent Updated this in a while!
S0...
All that happened is me doing absolutely nothing
over the past year from having grad project last.
So as of now, I'm playing catch-up finishing up my notes
so i can start my paper, and get that thing done with...

I'm not that good at writing papers...
So... that means that I have serious work to do!

I also have to start working on my website for this project...
and my action plan and get this show on the road.

I'm going to stop procrastinating and get my lazy self to work!

Have a good one
(i couldn't think of anything else to say...)

Another One Bites The Dust!

I have finished my Pre-Writing Questionaire...
and I'm working and pretty much done with my Table of Events

I made a spelling error, a very interesting spelling error...

the sentence was:
"My point is that HIV and AIDS are epidemics and when people don’t have a food understanding of an epidemic,"
It was supposed to be:
"My point is that HIV and AIDS are epidemics and when people don’t have a good understanding of an epidemic,"

Get 'Er Done!

I Finished my Prewriting Questionnaire Finally...
and Ms. Savido said it was organized well.

(Then I asked her if she was being sarcastic... Tehehe!)

But she wasn't. Also I'm going to be working on my second version of my survey
so that people aren't filling out the same survey.

Norman OUT!

TODAY'S Latest and Greatest!

March 16th, 2009

Today I worked on my proposal questionaire,
and I spoke with Ms. B and Ms. Savido about ways to get more in depth with surveying students
I plan to create a great survey and possibly use my programming knowledge to help me with this survey.
but I think I've made some great progress with my proposal, and action plan today.
I've finished my Proposal Questionaire and I have no idea where to go from there, so im going to work on notes, and work with this source I've found to create the surveys.

On The Brighter Side

It is march 3rd,

Today is our last day to work on presentations of the graduation project and action plan.
I have created a PowerPoint to help me to organize my ideas and thoughts,
so it is easier for me to present my information.

Starting Tomorrow March 4th, the class may be presenting their projects to EVERYONE.
Everyone being around 48-50 people. I don't like large crowds, especially when
I'm the center of attention. Its just not my thing, but i always seem to manage.

I think my PowerPoint will sufice and do a very good job with presenting my information,
my PowerPoint just really needs to look really cool, so my project isnt extremely boring to look at.

Crapola! Loosing Momentum!

Its NOTES WEEK!

I hate taking notes... They can get so boring after a while!
I but it MUST BE DONE!
I have a couple notes for each of my foundation questions...
My foundation Questions are particularly easy to answer though.
but were not going to tell anyone that part!

Ms. Savido says we need to be working on notes because this week is dedicated to taking notes.
Taking notes are endless.
There are so many notes, but I just dont know what all to take notes on.
Im thinking of my next step though, I dont really know why either.

NOTES WEEK!
The Official Week That We ONLY Take Notes! Endorced by Ms. Savido (...being comedic...)

BREAKING NEWS!

I have received the copy of Mr. Rinaldo's Answers to my interview questions.
He was very elaborate on his answers, which helps me alot with taking notes on his answers.

I thanked him for all of his help, and I emailed him a link to my blog so that he can keep tabs on my project.

Another Development!

I have been working on my action plan all day...
and also have been starting my to do list for my action plan.

so my main focus today was working on my action plan.
and I am almost finished but I think i have a nice amount of work to do.

In a startaling new development!

Mr. Rinaldo has agreed to be interviewed!

Im extremely excited to send him a copy of my questions,
and read his thoughts about the questions i have created.

OGM ANNOTATIONS!

I have just completed my webliography using easybib.com.
I inconveniently didn't know about the annotation feature of easybib,
so i had to type my annotations in word... What A Drag?

but i still got it done... it was tiring and annoying, and I don't think I will
be making annotations for anything for a while.

Ms. Savido asked me today about how I'm going to be getting involved with my project,
and that i need to start thinking about who I will be interviewing about my topic.
I have one idea about how I'm getting involved with this topic, and that is
working on making people aware of the other things they don't know about HIV and AIDS.
and also, I don't know who I will be interviewing, I don't know who I can interview except for
someone who has HIV or AIDS.

but I'm working on finding someone to interview, and its going kind of well...

Foundation Questions 2!

This is My Essential Question:
What Makes HIV and AIDS an Epidemic?

These are my 10 Foundation Questions:

1. How many people in the USA live with HIV and AIDS?
2. How do people contract HIV and AIDS?
3. How are HIV and AIDS related?
4. What are ways to prevent HIV and AIDS from broadening?
5. What are some organizations that help spread awareness to HIV and AIDS prevention?
6. Are there any treatments or a cure for HIV or AIDS?
7. What is HIV?
8. What is AIDS?
9. How Are HIV and AIDS Connected?
10. What are some common stereotypes about HIV and AIDS?

Foundation Questions!

I have been working on Foundation Questions lately.
As of Yesterday i have created 10 foundation questions,
AND began working on answering them. So my progressions are
going well I also have found out about a few people who have died of AIDS,
and one who has been living with HIV or AIDS for some time now.

Did you know Arthur Ashe died of AIDS?
He announced that he had AIDS on April 8th, 1992,
and Died of AIDS on February 6th, 1993.
Did you know Magic Johnson has been living with HIV since 1991?
Magic Johnson Announced he had HIV on November 7th, 1991
and Is currently living with HIV.

Well i discovered this yesterday and i was suprised.

Progression

My progressions so far are at a stand still...
I i cant think of anything else to work with,
other than reading articles about my topic.
I have found 11 or 12 key terms, and none of them have simple defintions...

But i have been reading articles for the past 2 days...
and i have found out alot more than i knew before about AIDS

Today

Today I havce been mainly reading articles
and trying to figure out an essential question.
I have found several useful websites and have recorded them.
I have found the World Aids Day Website

December 1st is World AIDS Day.

Latest Thought!

I Received a comment that I find extremely good.
I plan to to use Surveys to find out how much students know about HIV and AIDS.
I plan to survey students from each grade to find out how much they know as a whole,
using this information I will attempt to create a structured lecture or discussion on
HIV and AIDS Awareness.

After this lecture/Discussion, I will give the very same survey to the previously surveyed students to see how much they have learned about HIV and AIDS.
I will still be creating this website, but I will use the website to help with the organization
of the information i will be using in the Lecture/Discussion.

Latest Topic Idea

I have recently found a more narrow topic for my essential idea.
I would like to create a website dedicated to awareness and prevention
of HIV and AIDS.
Savido asked me "What will make your website stand-out from the rest of the other
HIV and AIDS awareness sites on the web?"
I Honestly HAVE NO IDEA AT ALL, also im in the planning stage of the website,
(Layout, content, etc.)
I hope to have a my site completely planned out by mid february, and i have found several sources for information, and i would hope to be able to use most of my new skills to make this website a place where people can talk to people whether they are infected with HIV or AIDS, or whether they don't have HIV or AIDS.

Topic Ideas

I've thought of many ideas for my Graduation Project.
But I know i want to do something with AIDS Awareness,
Or, Something that has to do with Children Behavioral Habits based on Families.
I have an interest in AIDS Research.
